As we enter 2012 it is critical that each of our customers inspect their FCC radio license holdings to ensure that they have been modified to narrowband operation. Check your FCC license; your emissions designator is listed, and if it starts with 11K or 7K you are in good shape! However, if your emissions designator starts with a 20K, please call us as soon as you can, as we can assist you to modify your license. In most cases, a license modification and radio reprogramming is required. In some cases, non-programmable radios will need to be replaced.
The narrowband deadline is January 1, 2013!
Due to an expected last minute rush, we advise that you start this process now.
Not all of our customers know that we have two way radios, satellite phones and wireless broadband systems for RENT!
If you are looking for dependable rental equipment at a more than competitive price, please call us. We can help you with your short-term and long-term communication needs. We offer intrinsically safe radios and accessories for operation within refineries, 24 hour service, on-site training and pick-up and delivery anywhere in the United States.
We now offer “wide area” communication rental on our VHF Digital MotoTRBO network. The system provides crystal clear communication with text messaging from two sites in Southern California.

AVOID FINES AND PENALTIES IN 2012!
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
Drivers of CMVs: Restricting the Use of Cellular Phones
On December 21, 2010, FMCSA published a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) in the Federal Register (75 FR 80014), proposing to restrict the use of hand-held mobile telephones by interstate CMV drivers.
FMCSA and PHMSA are amending the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) and the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) to restrict the use of hand-held mobile telephones by drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs).
The final rule prohibits commercial drivers from using a hand held mobile telephone while operating a commercial truck or bus.
- Drivers who violate restriction will face civil penalties of up to $2750 for each offense.
- Multiple offenses will result in disqualification of commercial drivers license (CDL).
- Commercial truck or bus companies that allow their drivers to use cell phones can be fined up to $11000.
- Approximately 4 million commercial drivers will be affected by this final rule.
