Message from the CEO
September 2011 I am extremely excited to unveil our new electronic catalog! The catalog is designed to provide to you accurate, up-to-date and easy to access information. Information in the catalog includes among other things the FCC mandate to narrowband, and it describes what the potential enforcement consequences are to VHF / UHF licensees for failing to narrowband by January 1, 2013.
Enforcement actions may include:
- Admonishment
- License revocation
- Monetary forfeitures of up to $16,000 for each such violation or each day of a continuing violation, and up to $112,500 for any single act or failure to act.
In order to ensure your conversion to narrowband operation is timely approved by the FCC, your efforts should be completed by August 2012 at the latest.
The catalog also lists which Motorola radios are and are not, capable of being reprogrammed to narrowband operation.
Please save a copy of the electronic catalog for your use and call us to assist you in your narrowbanding effort.
I am also pleased to announce that the $800.00 Trade-In program and the $400.00 Rebate program have been extended to the end of this calendar year! I do not believe that this program will be extended again, so take advantage of these big discounts while you can.
See our web site www.advancedelectronics.com, or talk with one of our associates at 310-725-0410 or 800-750-RADIO to learn more about these promotions that will save you bid dollars.

Again, thank you for your continued support. We are in business to serve you and your communication and security needs.

Our new Motorola Digital catalog contains all the vital information you need to know about the 2013 FCC Narrowbanding Mandate and more. It includes the steps you need to take to avoid the FCC’s potential enforcement consequences that they outlined in their July Public Notice:
What are the potential enforcement consequences to VHF/UHF licensees of failing to narrowband by January 1, 2013?
As of January 1, 2013, the Commission’s rules will prohibit Industrial/Business and Public Safety Radio Pool licensees in the 150-174 MHz and 421-512 MHz bands from operating with wideband channels (unless their equipment meets the narrowband efficiency standard), even if the license still lists a wideband emission designator. Licensees operating in wideband mode after January 1, 2013 that have not received a waiver from the Commission extending the deadline will be in violation of these rules. Operation in violation of the Commission’s rules may subject licensees to appropriate enforcement action, including admonishments, license revocation, and/or monetary forfeitures of up to $16,000 for each such violation or each day of a continuing violation and up to $112,500 for any single act or failure to act.11
We believe you will find the catalog very useful and informative. |

The FCC recently defined the potential enforcement consequences to VHF/UHF licensees of failing to narrowband by January 1, 2013. They can be found at the bottom of page 5 of their Public Notice from July 13, 2011.
It reads as follows:
What are the potential enforcement consequences to VHF/UHF licensees of failing to narrowband
by January 1, 2013?
As of January 1, 2013, the Commission’s rules will prohibit Industrial/Business and Public Safety
Radio Pool licensees in the 150-174 MHz and 421-512 MHz bands from operating with wideband channels (unless their equipment meets the narrowband efficiency standard), even if the license still lists a wideband emission designator. Licensees operating in wideband mode after January 1, 2013 that have not received a waiver from the Commission extending the deadline will be in violation of these rules.
Operation in violation of the Commission’s rules may subject licensees to appropriate enforcement action, including admonishments, license revocation, and/or monetary forfeitures of up to $16,000 for each such violation or each day of a continuing violation and up to $112,500 for any single act or failure to act (11).
| 11) This amount is subject to further adjustment or inflation. Other statutory amounts may apply based on the status of the licensee. In addition, in determining the amount of the forfeiture penalty, the Commission may consider other statutory factors, such as “the nature, circumstances, extent, and gravity of the violation.” |

NNTN8203 APX™ XE Remote Speaker Microphone
The XE RSM is the first accessory from Motorola with dual microphones that helps suppress interfering background noise. It suppresses noise so effectively, you can be heard in some of the loudest environments - over pumper trucks, crowd noise and wailing sirens. A large speaker delivers audio that is 50% louder and clearer than their existing XTS RSMs.
| This high-visibility, bright green XE RSM features an asymmetrical shape to help you find the controls without looking, even while wearing bulky gloves. The XE RSM features a large push-to-talk button and an extra-large emergency button that are both easy to locate, but shielded so they’re not set off accidentally when running, crawling or climbing. Easily accessible programmable buttons and a volume switch that ramps up and down make the microphone intuitive to use even in the most demanding conditions. A large d-ring and sturdy clamping clip ensure your APX XE RSM stays attached to your turnout gear.
The XE RSM features a strobe light that activates when the emergency button is pressed, casting light up to 10 feet in thick smoke. And if the RSM gets sprayed with a hose or dropped in a pool of water, you’ll see what rugged specs (IP68 submersibility) and a unique water-draining speaker design really mean.
